Transaction history & categorisation:
Accounts are linked with Aviva’s partner Bud, on average, 12 months of transaction history will be available. The transaction history is captured automatically, and each transaction will be categorised accordingly (supporting market-leading exhaustive primary and secondary categories, but users cannot add their own categories yet). If a transaction from a specific merchant is manually re-categorised, all previous transactions from that merchant will be updated and re-categorised, and the model will “learn” from the action going forward. Users can search by category, over specific date ranges, and view an aggregated total spend.
Including partner & joint accounts:
Users can connect their own banking, savings and credit card accounts, and those in joint name or a partners account where supported.


Account connectivity:
Aviva workplace scheme members will be using open finance technology provided by Bud to connect their current accounts, savings accounts and credit cards.
Messaging & outcomes:
Data from open finance will be used to help drive better personalised financial outcomes for members. This includes intelligent messaging or nudges for spending, saving, and debt management. Messages are delivered to members as push notifications via the app and portal or secure messaging.


Consent:
Users will be automatically notified to renew their Open Banking consent every 90 days via push notifications, with follow-up reminders if not actioned. If consent is not renewed after 90 days, the account will be deactivated.
Bank Connectivity:
Open Finance solution provided for Aviva by Bud can retrieve account data from numerous high street and challenger banks we have in our analysis. This includes American Express, and challenger banks Monzo, Starling and Revolut.
